Americans Spend Billions on Sleep Drugs and Products, But Could Natural Remedies Be More Effective?
Thursday September 14, 3:35 pm ET

NEW YORK, NY--(MARKET WIRE)--Sep 14, 2006 -- The U.S. spends $2.5 billion on prescription sleeping pills alone, leading Americans to search for the next miracle pill of sleep. However, with the increased concern of side effects from some prescription products, many are turning to all-natural remedies that have been extremely popular at major drugstores in Europe for decades and used by celebrities including Jennifer Aniston and Salma Hayek.

One such remedy, "Rescue Sleep," consists of an all-natural blend of flower remedies, is much cheaper than prescription drugs and poses no risk of side effects. Brand new on the store shelves this month, it is formulated from White Chestnut, a natural botanical extract proven to help relax and calm the mind. It's not a narcotic, is non-addictive and has been available since 1936.

Video with this release includes: - Soundbites from Alica Sirkin, Sleep Counsellor - Soundbites from Carolyn Camburn, Former Insomniac - Footage of Nelson's Rescue Sleep and people using it - Footage of people tossing and turning in bed.

NEW: RESCUE SLEEP - Non-habit forming, fast acting natural sleep aid

(PRLEAP.COM) NEW: RESCUE SLEEP - Non-habit forming, fast acting natural sleep aid

At last a non-habit forming and fast acting natural sleep aid from the makers of Bach Rescue Remedy is available as of today online at www.supervits.com

We Americans have a problem getting restful sleep. According to the National Sleep Foundation, about 70 million people in the United States experience sleep-associated problems. Almost 40 million Americans suffer from chronic sleep disorders, and an additional 20 to 30 million are affected by intermittent sleep-related problems. Even worse, most people ignore the problem; few think they actually have one. Only half of those polled by the foundation earlier this year were able to say they slept well on most nights; and one-fourth of adults say sleep problems have some impact on their daily lives

Richard Gelula, the foundation's CEO, said there's a link between sleep and quality of life.

"People who sleep well, in general, are happier and healthier,” he said. "But when sleep is poor or inadequate, people feel tired or fatigued, their social and intimate relationships suffer, work productivity is negatively affected, and they make our roads more dangerous by driving while sleepy and less alert.”

Concerns about feeling sleepy at the wheel is nothing to snooze at. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that drowsiness accounts for 100,000 police-reported automobile crashes each year. The National Sleep Foundation report on a study by Knipling and Wang showed that car accidents related to sleep deprivation resulted in more than 1,500 fatalities and 71,000 injuries per year.

Sleeping medications, including sedative/hypnotic medications, like Ambien, are recommended for short-term use, but lots of people take them frequently and become dependent upon them to fall asleep. Sleep-inducing medications, especially when taken over long periods of time, stay in the bloodstream, giving a hangover the next day and beyond, impairing memory and performance on the job and at home. All medications interact with other medications to one degree or another, sometimes with harmful effects. Finding a natural product or modifying our patterns of behavior to get a good night sleep is a good first approach with little or no harmful consequences.

There are questions about the effectiveness of sleeping pills. A study by researchers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School found that a change in sleep habits and attitudes was more effective in treating chronic insomnia, over the short- and long-term, than sleeping pills (specifically Ambien).

Ambien is the most prescribed pharmaceutical product to induce sleep, chemically. Earlier this month, it was reported that some Ambien users are susceptible to amnesia and walking in their sleep. Some even ate in the middle of the night without realizing it.
In contrast, Bach well-known “Rescue Remedy”, its 38 specific natural remedies and the just released natural sleep remedy, “Rescue Sleep”, acts organically upon our feelings and emotions to bring us emotional balance and a sense of well-being.

The original Bach natural remedies have been used confidently in Europe for over 100 years. Among Bach Remedies most visible advocates in America are Jennifer Anniston who says it keeps her cool under pressure. Kate Blanchett and Salma Hayek have been fans for years. Roberta Flack uses “Rescue Remedy” soothing effect for menopausal hot flashes.

The Bach Centre, based in England, produces the 38 natural remedies, and "Rescue Remedy" is it's most popular. Bachflower.com makes them available online.

The new release, “Rescue Sleep” contains the 5 effective ingredients of “Rescue Remedy” plus White Chestnut. White Chestnut is effective against restless mind.
