Benefits Of Iodine-Breast Cancer-Thyroid Cancer-Menopause Weight Gain
In the 1960’s when iodine intake was higher (and toxic halogens lower) the risk for breast cancer was 1 in 20; today it is 1 in 8 and increasing by 1% per year!
WHICH IODINE SUPPLEMENT? Up until now there were only two forms of iodine supplements, tablets or liquid. With the introduction of new trans-dermal iodine body balancing cream the absorption rate increased. The body absorbs iodine through the skin bypassing the traditional oral method. Tran-dermal delivery symptom increases the body’s iodine saturation level faster than tablets or liquid iodine supplements. Iodine is an essential element. Although its main function is in the production of thyroid hormones by the thyroid gland, other organs in the body have a need for iodine in order to function normally.
Natural Iodine Balance Cream: 12.5 mg iodine/iodide, an amount very close to the 13.8 mg average intake of mainland Japanese. Iodine Balance absorbs quickly leaving no greasy or oily residue on your skin.
Dr. Albert Szent Gyori: The Nobel laureate Dr. Albert Szent Györgi (1893–1986), the physician who discovered vitamin C, used Iodine freely in his medical practice. The standard dose of potassium iodide given in those days was 1 gram, which contains 770 mg of iodine.
Dr. Guy Abraham; The iodine supplement tablet made by Dr. Guy Abraham, a former professor of obstetrics and gynecology at UCLA who started "The Iodine Project" in 1997, and engaged two family practice physicians, Jorge Flechas and David Brownstein to carry out clinical studies of the hypothesis that the body needs 12.5 mg of iodine a day. More than 4,000 patients in this project consumed Iodine supplements from 12 to 50 mg per day, and in those with diabetes, up to 100 mg a day. They reported their findings that Iodine does indeed reverse fibrocystic disease; diabetic patients require less insulin; hypothyroid patients require less thyroid medication; symptoms of fibromyalgia resolve, and patients with migraine headaches stop having them. TROUBLE LOSSING WEIGHT?
WEIGHT PROBLEMS-THYROID-METABOLISM: There is an epidemic of obesity and overweight in this country. And no wonder! Iodine is crucial for metabolism and weight loss. Iodine stores in fat cells. Toxic halogens can also store in fat cells, blocking the release of fat and blocking weight loss. Low thyroid has long been associated with modest weight gain. But patients with low iodine levels AND accumulation of toxic halogens are showing a disturbing trend of being unable to lose weight beyond a certain plateau. By some estimates 50% to 60% of our population is now considered obese. The best therapy in most cases is high-dose iodine (25 mg/day).
Iodine is the key to a healthy thyroid and metabolism. It is best known for being a part of thyroid hormones, which are used in every cell of our bodies to regulate metabolism and weight by controlling the burning of fat for energy and heat. Over 100 years ago iodine was shown to prevent and reverse goiter (swelling of the thyroid) and hypothyroid. Iodine deficiency may also be involved in autoimmune disorders such as Grave’s and Hashimoto’s diseases; as studies have shown iodine-deficient patients have a higher rate of anti-thyroid antibodies.
Iodine also controls metabolism in other ways. It is important for the other endocrine glands: the adrenals, pituitary, gonads (sex glands), pancreas, pineal and thymus. Do you have any of these symptoms? Brittle nails, cold hands and feet, cold intolerance, depression, difficulty swallowing, dry skin, dry hair or hair loss, fatigue, high cholesterol, hoarseness, infertility, lethargy, menstrual irregularities, early menopause, poor memory or concentration, slower heartbeat, throat pain, or weight gain. Or more serious diseases: thyroid dysfunction, fibrocystic breast disease, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, or prostate cancer? .
BREAST CANCER AND THYROID CANCER
IODINE DEFINICENCY MAY CAUSE FIBROCYSTIC BREAST DISEASE, BREAST CANCER AND THYROID CANCER The World Health Organization (WHO) has related iodine deficiency to mental retardation, cretinism, increased child and infant mortality, infertility, and socioeconomic decline- and more recently developmental delays (ADD, PDD, LD). Iodine and thyroid hormones stimulate the development of the brain and nerves. Hence it is important for intelligence and memory. It was shown to make a difference of 13.5 points on IQ tests between Iodine deficient and iodine sufficient areas. Iodine is crucial to brain development, and is concentrated in the brain, cerebrospinal fluid, and the eye, as well as the substantia nigra of the brain (an area associated with Parkinson’s Disease). High amounts of iodine are excreted in breast milk to help develop a baby’s growing brain and nervous system. Some evolutionary biologists believe iodine and eating seafood played an important role in human brain development and evolution. Does your child have any of the symptoms listed above? Developmental delays (ADD, PDD, LD), mental retardation, or Down’s Syndrome. If so, Iodine deficiency or hypothyroid could be the cause.
The World Health Organization has also related iodine deficiency to infertility. Iodine is most important for women, because it is most highly concentrated in the thyroid, breasts and ovaries. Iodine deficiency can lead to menstrual irregularities, infertility, early menopause, and ovarian diseases. But it is still vital for men, especially for the prostate.
IODINE DEFICIENT?THE RDA FOR IODINE IS TOO LOW FOR OPTIMAL HEALTH According to Guy Abraham MD, our dietary intake of Iodine is too low, set at 150 mcg by the government RDA. Dr. Guy Abraham tells us that a healthier level of Iodine intake would be 100 times greater at 12.5 mg, which is the average Iodine intake for Japan, and this higher Iodine intake could explain why the Japanese have the lowest rates for cancer of the breast, prostate and thyroid.
HOW SAFE IS IODINE SUPLEMENTATION?
Very Safe! Iodine is the only trace element that can be ingested safely in amounts up to 100,000 times the RDA. For example, potassium iodide has been prescribed safely to large numbers pulmonary (COPD) patients in amounts of up to 6 grams per day for several years. This postassium iodide is a well known treatment for COPD which helps mobilize lung secretions. The FDA has officially stated that Iodine supplmentation is safe and actually recommends 165 mg of Iodine for adults in case of Radiation Emergency to protect the population from thyroid cancer.
COULD EXCESS IODINE BE HARMFUL? "Iodine allergy" is a misnomer since this name applies to allergy to iodinated radiographic contrast agents, and not to elemental iodine which is quite different. But iodine tolerance varies with individuals. Most reactions to high iodine intake are likely due to the forced excretion of toxic halides, such as bromide, fluoride and perchlorate. Symptoms can include: acne, eczema, rashes, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, increased salivation, metallic taste in mouth, sneezing, nervousness, palpitations and racing pulse.

TEST YOUR BODIES IODINE LEVEL
The most accurate way to test your bodies iodine level is with a urine test. Ask your doctor to test your iodine level at your next appointment.
The next best way to test your iodine level is as follows: you will need to purchase a small bottle of brown liquid iodine tincture, the kind you would use on cuts. This form of iodine can be found at your local supper market in the pharmacy department. Place a small circle of the brown liquid iodine tincture on your wrist (a fifty cent piece size), plam face up.
Let dry! Iodine tincture well stain your clothes so be careful! Watch how long it takes for the brown liquid iodine tincture to fade from our skin. This should take between eight to ten hours if you are not iodine deficient.
If you are iodine deficent the stain will begin to turn orange in color very quickly, then yellow and finally to a pale yellow before completely disappearing. If your body adsorbs the iodine quickly this could be a sign of iodine deficiency. Within a week of using Iodine Balance Body Cream re-test yourself to see how long the brown liquid iodine stain lasts.
Because Natural Iodine Balance is a cream your bodies absorption rate is much faster then if you were taking a handful of kelp pills. MENTAL DEVELOPMENT VS RETARDATION
Iodine, a well known topical antiseptic and antimicrobial agent, also directly kills cancer cells and serves as the key player in our body's surveillance system for removing abnormal pre-cancer cells. There is considerable medical research to support this statement. Dr. B.A. Eskin published 80 papers over 30 years researching iodine and breast cancer, and he reports that iodine deficiency causes breast cancer and thyroid cancer in humans and animals. Iodine deficiency is also known to cause a pre-cancerous condition called fibrocystic breast disease. Ghent published a paper in 1993 which showed iodine supplementation works quite well to reverse and resolve fibrocystic changes of the breast, and this is again the subject of a current clinical study. Despite its obvious potential, not much has been done with Iodine treatment over the past 40 years in the United States. Since iodine isn't patentable and is therefore unlikely to be profitable to market, there is no money to fund studies for "FDA approval". However, FDA approval is not required since Iodine is already an additive to table salt at the supermarket. CHILD AND INFANT RETARDATION
Benefits of natural iodine, sourced from kelp/seaweed helps an iodine deficient body. Iodine is now known to play an essential role in immune function. High-dose iodine has been shown to kill breast and thyroid cancer cells (induce selective apoptosis). It is also a potent antioxidant. More recently, iodine deficiency has been related to: thyroid cancer, low thyroid, hyporthyroidism, thyroid desease, goiter, fibrocystic breast disease, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, and prostate cancer, weight gain, thyroid desease, cold hands & feet, dry skin, low energy and more.
