DESCRIPTION Hydrolyzed Collagen Plus is a unique formulation and healthy hydration beverage for skin health.† Collagen with hyaluronic acid and co-factors supports the appearance of healthy skin by promoting healthy collagen production, skin elasticity, and hydration, while lessening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. † The powdered formulation is specially designed to dissolve clear, flavorless and tasteless in liquid.

Humans have an inner layer of the skin called the dermis which is composed of collagen and elastin. Collagen is responsible for the resilience, strength, durability, elasticity, smoothness and the plump appearance of healthy skin. Intact collagen has a tightly bound protein structure and is hard to digest, but when broken down to its hydrolyzed (peptide) form it is easily absorbed in the intestinal tract and provides essential and non-essential amino acids. † Hydrolyzed collagen may provide support for the extracellular matrix by stimulating anabolic processes in skin tissue more than amino acids alone.† Skin moisture has also been shown to improve with the ingestion of collagen supplements.†


Hyaluronic acid (HA) and proteoglycans have a high water retention capacity and are important components in maintaining skin moisture. HA, which is produced mainly by fibroblasts and keratinocytes, is a well-known ingredient that holds water in the dermis. HA content is reported to decline with age, which may contribute to wrinkle formation and the decrease in elasticity of the skin. Hyaluronic acid appears to support the skin by promoting healthy turnover and renewal of keratinocytes, thus moderating the appearance of fine lines and age spots.† This product uses low molecular weight HA which has shown to be better absorbed by the intestinal tract than high molecular weight HA.†


The formula contains vitamin and mineral co-factors including vitamin C to help in connective tissue formation and copper and zinc in an ideal ratio to help link collagen threads together. These also act as antioxidants in the body and have been shown in research to reduce the harmful effects of sun damage in epidermal skin cells.†


In addition to skin health, hydrolyzed collagen may help support healthy joint function because it is a vital part of the joint and bone matrix. Collagen peptides are a source of bioactive peptides, which offer benefits for our cellular metabolism. Research shows that hydrolyzed collagen may stimulate the joint matrix cells to synthesize collagen, so helping to maintain the structure of the joint and potentially to aid joint comfort.†
