L-Tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid that plays an important role in the production of neurotransmitters dopamine and norepinephrine.  In addition, because It is necessary for the synthesis of thyroid hormone and epinephrine (adrenaline), L-Tyrosine supports healthy glandular function and stress response. It is important in thyroid performance, and a lack of L-Tyrosine in the diet can create hypothyroid conditions.

Tyrosine is involved in so many vital functions that it is considered to be all purpose amino acid. The body tries to manage and balance the level of tyrosine, depending on the life circumstances of the individual. The high level of stress on a daily basis may result in the depletion of tyrosine from the body. To keep the level of tyrosine in the body at normal level, foodstuffs rich in tyrosine should be taken. Tyrosine can reduce depression, mood disorders, Parkinson’s disease and in some cases Alzheimer’s disease. Tyrosine can also be effective in making strong muscles.

Tyrosine also decreases the absorption of necessary amino acids. Tyrosine is seen in playing its part in the production of dopamine and epinephrine. Tyrosine is beneficial in protecting the nerve cells from several different toxins; these toxins destroy the nerve endings which result in decreased alertness. Few of the vital endocrine glands are affected if the level of tyrosine in the body is decreased.

According to different research studies tyrosine is necessary for the normal functioning of the body. Specifically, these research studies state that the brain is the most affected organ if the level of tyrosine decreases in the body.

Serving Size:  1 Capsule

Suggested Usage:  As a dietary supplement, take 1 capsule 1 to 3 times daily, preferably between meals.  Consider taking this product in combination with NOW® L-Phenylalanine and Acetyl L-Carnitine.

Other Ingredients:  Gelatin (capsule), Magnesium Stearate (vegetable source) and Stearic Acid (vegetable source).
 
Contains no:  sugar, salt, starch, yeast, wheat, gluten, corn, soy, milk, egg, shellfish or preservatives.

Caution:  Persons with thyroid disease (hyperthyroidism), melanoma, or those taking MAO inhibitors or other mood altering medications should seek the advice of a physician before consuming this product.
