Feverfew is a popular herb and is botanically related to the sunflower.  Feverfew has been an natural herbal remedy in Europe for centuries.  Recent scientific research has confirmed some of its famed historical uses.  NOW Feverfew Extract naturally contains min. 0.8% Parthenolide.

Used for the prevention of migraines & headaches, arthritis, fevers, muscle tension and pain, Feverfew is also used to lower blood pressure, lessen stomach irritation, stimulate the appetite and to improve digestion and kidney function. It has been indicated for colitis, dizziness, tinnitus and menstrual problems. Besides vascular headaches, feverfew may relieve premenstrual headaches, which often are due to fluid retention and hormonal effects.

 Studies have shown the use of feverfew may reduce of frequency and severity of headaches. It can be more effective than other nonsteroidal antiinflammatories (NSAIDS), like aspirin. The combination of ingredients in the feverfew plant that brings such effective relief. It works to inhibit the release of two inflammatory substances, serotonin and prostaglandins, both believed to contribute to the onset of migraines.

By inhibiting these amines as well as the production of the chemical histamine, the herb controls inflammation that constricts the blood vessels in the head and prevents blood vessel spasms which may contribute to headaches. In many studies, both the intensity of the person’s migraines, and the frequency of them, were decreased as long as the person was taking feverfew every single day.

Serving Size:  1 Capsule

Suggested Usage:  As a dietary supplement, take 1 capsule 1 to 6 times daily, preferably with meals.  Consider taking this product in combinatioin with NOW® Butterbur, White Willow Bark and Magnesium.

Other Ingredients:  Cellulose, Gelatin (capsule), Silica, Magnesium Stearate (vegetable source) and Stearic Acid (vegetable source).
